CLOTHING
Maintaining your body temperature in varying weather conditions is tricky. Because your physical comfort is the starting point, make sure to follow these tips for best results on the hill!
1.
Clothing
Everything you need to know for a smooth, fun, and memorable first visit, including tips, rentals, and slope guidance.
- Select clothing that is waterproof, breathable and loose fitting
- Think in terms of layering by adding or taking off articles of clothing depending on temperature or level of exertion
- Use long thermal underwear, either light or medium weight as inner most layer
- Choose fabric with thermal properties such as polypropylene to transport moisture away from the skin
- Loose-fitting, insulated shell pants are preferable to tight stretch pants; and avoid jeans.
2.
FOR YOUR FEET
Wear a pair of wool or synthetic socks, opting for warmth over bulk. Avoid wearing 2 pairs of socks.
3.
FOR YOUR BODY
- Polypropylene clothing is essential
- Avoid cotton
- For the outer jacket, wear a winter jacket with good insulation
- For your hands, wear insulated and waterproof gloves or mittens
4.
FOR YOUR HEAD
We highly recommend you wear a helmet. Choose one that cover your ears.
Other helmets, like bicycle helmets, are not recommended.
A pair of ski goggles and a neck warmer will avoid wind burn.
