RFID

Mont Cascades is integrating technology called RFID starting this winter. The era of single use tickets will now be behind us in order to introduce rechargeable RFID cards! How does it work? We will explain everything here!

Mont Cascades uses access gates at the chairlifts and issues guests RFID access cards. Keep this card to reload online and save.

Your season pass or lift ticket will be loaded onto your RFID Card.

This RFID card will open the gate and grant you access to the chairlift, provided of course that your pass is loaded with a valid lift ticket or pass type.

Retrieve your RFID card

In order to collect your RFID card, you must first purchase a ticket or a season pass online (or at the customer service counter).

Keep it safe, it will be your card for several years!

Online Purchase

Your lift ticket will be issued on a reloadable et reusable RFID card.

Purchase your first ticket at the ski resort or online and pick it up at a ticket kiosk. Keep your card safe so you can access the ski lifts directly.

Now you can RELOAD your tickets online and save time. RFID cards are non-transferable. Only one card is issued per user.

Season Pass holders: Your season pass details will be loaded onto your RFID card. You will be able to recharge your card each season.

RFID Information

RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification Device.

The device is a small circuit that is integrated into your RFID card, which contains information relating to your lift ticket or season pass. When you approach the access gate, the circuit in your card will register and open the gate automatically, provided that your card is loaded with a valid lift ticket or season pass.

Insert your card in one of the pockets of your ski coat, necessarily on the LEFT side.

  • Pocket on the arm
  • Chest or front pocket
  • Regular side pocket

The card should be the only item in your pocket, isolated from your cell phone, other RFID cards and electronic device. Avoid contact with metal objects and above all, do not make a hole in your card

At the chair lifts

Once you arrive at the chair lifts, go to the gates. Wait a few seconds for the reader to detect the card and the panels will open automatically.

If the gate does not open, step back slightly and try again by positioning your card closer to the reader. Otherwise, step away from the line and a member of our team will be available to help you outside.

Online recharge

  1. In order to recharge your card, go to our online store and log in to your account.
  2. Make sure you enter the correct username and the correct email associated with your RFID card or your previous web purchases. Otherwise, the product will not be associated with your card, and it will not work in the station.
  3. Once logged in, choose the product you wish to purchase by selecting your profile and accepting
the terms and conditions.
  4. When the product is selected and added to your cart, you can proceed with the purchase.
  5. Following your transaction, the product will be automatically added to your digital card and can
be used at the station! You are therefore now ready to go directly to the slopes, keeping your current map.

Recharge on site

It is also possible to reload your RFID card at the customer service counter.

Frequency Asked Questions

Is my card good for next season?

Yes. Your card is good for many seasons. A MONT
CASCADES STORY

Mont Cascades is owned and operated by Rick Hunter, the Hunter family, and the Cascades operating team: people with a deep, personal connection to skiing, snowboarding, and winter life.
Rick Hunter spent five years on the Canadian Alpine Ski Team and competed at Can-Am level and in World Cup events. His passion for the mountain runs deep, and Mont Cascades is part of the way he gives back to a sport and a community that have meant so much to him.
That same spirit lives at the heart of Mont Cascades today: creating a place where skiers and riders of all ages, and the families who love winter with them, can come together season after season.
