Are you a first timer? Here are a few ideas to help you prepare for your first visit to our resort.
Maintaining your body temperature in varying weather conditions is tricky. Because your personal comfort is the starting point, make sure to:
Select clothing that is waterproof, breathable and loose fitting;
Think in terms of layering by adding or taking off articles depending on outside temperature and level of exertion;
Use long thermal underwear, either light or medium weight as innermost layer;
Choose a fabric with thermal properties such as polypropylene to transport moisture away from the skin;
Loose-fitting, insulated shell pants are preferable to tight stretch pants; and
Avoid jeans.
Wear a pair of wool or synthetic socks, opting for warmth over bulk. Avoid wearing 2 pairs of socks.
Polupropylen clothing is essential
Avoid cotton
For the outer jacket, wear a winter jacket with good insulation
For your hands, wear insulated and waterproof gloves or mittens
We highly recommend you wear a helmet. Choose one that cover your ears. Other helmets, like bicycle helmets, are not recommended.
A pair of ski goggles and a neck warmer will avoid wind burn.
Upon arrival at the resort, head to Guest Services where you can purchase your ticket or season pass, rent equipment and book a ski or snowboard lesson.
Then head up to the terrace, where you can get dressed for skiing, drop off your valuables in a locker and order a meal from our various food service outlets (food truck and snack bar). This is also where you’ll find the bathrooms.
The easiest trails are identified by a green circle. At Mont Cascades, you will find our easiest run, called ”Mini”, on the far right of the resort. Your instructor will show where you and your children should ski after your lesson.
